Dental emergencies<\/a> can occur anywhere at any time, but they can be especially stressful when you\u2019re far from home and can\u2019t see your regular dentist. If you are living in the United States for work and have a dental emergency, here\u2019s what you should do to protect yourself and get the help you need in this time of crisis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Before You Leave\u2026<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If you haven\u2019t yet left your home community, schedule an appointment with your local dentist before you go. They can help treat any oral health problems prior to your departure so you can lower your risk of needing urgent care once you arrive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, investigate purchasing travel dental insurance that can be used in case of emergency during your stay. Once you arrive, you can also see if your employer offers any insurance plans based here in the US that you might qualify for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pack Your Supplies<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

When packing your bags, be sure to include your oral hygiene tools including your toothbrush, toothpaste, dental floss, and oral health appliances such as retainers or bite guards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, familiarize yourself with other local emergency services such as the location of the hospital emergency room just in case you cannot make it to a dentist during regular business hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
